Its been a few weeks now since I started this little Sophie’s Universe project and unfortunately it taking me a lot longer than I had hoped. What with a massive influx or orders, setting up and planning my CAL on Facebook (launching June 1st), its been rather busy! However I am off on holiday next week and hope I will get a few moments to myself push this along.
I am using Anchor Pearl cotton N.10 in
Colour 1 Blue, Colour 2 Beige, Colour 3 Turquoise, Colour 4 White, Colour 5 Dark Blue, Colour 6 Teal.
Round 1 & 2
Round 3 &4
Round 5 & 6
Round 7 & 8 Part one completed
Round 12 &13
Round 14 & 15, Part 2 completed.
This has been challenging, if you are doing this defiantly invest in a strong lamp and avoid the darker colours. The pattern its self is lovely to work, the most fiddly part I have found so far is picking up the picots of previous rounds, but that’s only because they are so small.
As you can see from the pictures I have tried so show the scale of the piece against the A4 book, it is approximately 3.5-4″ across. Tension is key to this project more than any other i have done, a loose stitch shows up a lot more in thread than normal yarn and i did have to frog quite a few times to get it to look consistent. The more I do the more I love it! Hopefully I will have a big third update in 2 weeks.
Here is a little video of how crochet and hold the thread
